I read today on the Blue Jays web site that they have proposed a deal that would send Alex Rios to the Giants for Tim Lincecum. What a incredible mistake that would be. You would go from Rios in right field, Wells in center and Reed Johnson/Matt Stairs in Left to Reed Johnson/Matt Stairs in Right, Vernon Wells in center and Adam Lind in Left.

I know the Jays like Lind, but hes no Rios and you are taking a not just a bat, but really your only speed out of your lineup. I know you can't have enough pitching, but the Jays do have enough pitching. They are wading in a pool knee deep in pitching. They should be trading a pitching prospect for a better shortstop or packaging Glaus for someone who can hit and move at third.

Dealing Rios for Lincecum is horrible at this stage of Rios career. The guy is a top notch hitter and Lincecum is barely proven. IF this move goes through, Im going to be very critical of this team when the offence tanks it again this year. Rios is primed to be the center of attention of this offence. So go ahead Riccardi, make the move, but be prepared to take all the heat that comes with it.
