Global Warming Conference
The United States representatives are doing as much as they can to piss off the rest of the world at the Global Warming Conferences in Bali, Indonesia. The Chief Climate negotiator isn't even a meteorologist, a climatologist or and environmentalist.
He is Harlan Watson, he has a BA in Physics, a PHD in Solid State Physics and a MA in Economics from Georgetown. None of those degrees provides him with any knowledge of climate. But that is the Bush Whitehouse for you. They appoint their cronies to do the work. He is carrying the Bush Administration line saying that technology, private investment and economic growth will save the environment.
So, far is gotten us no where Mr. President. The Bush administration and its delegates at this meeting believe that imposing mandatory cuts in global warming gases will only harm economic growth. I say thats a big sack of shit.
Putting mandatory cuts will spur economic development, companies will have to research new ways of doing things and new ways to conserve rather than waste fuels and energy. It will create jobs in research and technology as scientists have to research for new and alternative fuels that will take the place of our current fossil fuels.
This administration better wake up in a hurry as Australia signed the Kyoto protocol recently making the US the only country left not to sign it. The US is isolated on this issue no matter what Bush and his clowns want you to believe. Its disgusting that they won't get on board with the interests of the rest of the world and scientific community.
The Senate and Congress signed a bill today that mandates lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2050 for all electric power plants. The President wants to veto it. Why? because most electric plants run on...you guessed it ..OIL! And once again the administration proves that their loyalty lies with big oil.
Well their lies are wearing thin on many Americans and the rest of the world.

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
