Friday night the Sabres ruined Daniel Briere's homecoming, last night they went to Daniel Briere's new home, and trashed the place.

The Sabres are officially on a role right now and unlike earlier in the year they are finding ways to win. Last night was a great example. They were a team that should have been tired and looking for excuses but they shrugged it off, kept playing, kept skating, kept fighting through adversity and eventually won.

The Flyers couldn't beat Miller when it counted with 4 on 3 power play through most of the overtime the Flyers couldn't penetrate Miller and it cost them in the shootout.

The shootout was Buffalo's first and with the way they were playing last night, my three shooters would have been Max, Kotalik and Hecht. They didn't need Hecht but the first two were right on the money. Its about time Max started contributing,

The weekend leaves them with 39 points, just one point out of a tie for fourth place with Boston and Montreal and two points out of having the second most points in the conference. What a long way they came from their mediocre selves just 4 weeks ago. They have officially won 6 in a row and 13 out of their last 17 leaving them and their fans with some hope for after the Christmas holiday that they are on the right track.

Now, all I want for Christmas is for Thomas Vanek to start showing up on the score sheet.
