Sleep Study

| | Comments (6)

This Friday night I am going in for a sleep study. Im nervous, yet looking forward to it because by all accounts, if they discover the roots of my sleeping problems, I will come out of this feeling so much better and being able to actually sleep at night.

I started thinking that I wasn't sleeping last year, I was tossing and turning and couldn't get comfortable and I thought it was the mattress and it was probably part that. But blankets still end up on the floor and pillows get tossed around and I still wake up not feeling like I got a deep sleep.

So, my last doctors appointment I explained everything and he agreed and Friday night I go to Millard Fillmore at 8:30 pm and sleep there. I get woken up at 5 am and I am out the door by 5:30, hopefully with an understanding of why Im not sleeping. Im nervous because I don;t want to have to wear a sleep apnea mask at night. However, if I have to I will because I hate going to bed at night at 9 or 9:30 and waking up with 8-9 hours of sleep and not feeling like I slept at all.

Ill keep you all posted and just keep in mind, the bloggage may be low on Friday.

Mike,

I did one of these sleep studies once. The irony was that it was one of the worst nights of sleep I've ever had. It's kind of difficult to get into a deep sleep when there are thousands of little wires attached to your head and body. You can't really turn without waking up and at the end of it they said I didn't really get into a deep stage of restful sleep. Well DUH! In the end I was able to avoid having to wear one of those masks at night by losing some weight. Thank God because they could have taken away my driver's license if I was diagnosed with sever sleep apnea and I refused to wear the mask.

I just hope I can do it without the mask.

I had this done as well. I tried to be as faithful to my lifestyle as possible, so I "blew one" on the way to the hospital. The results came in and they were inconclusive, as I had a great nights sleep, but there was a period before I fell asleep and when I was just waking up where my mind was between sleep and conciousness.......I still snore and piss off my wife, but it sure is nice to know where my mind goes!
I bought one of those special pillows and it seemed to help.

Didn't you get married about a year ago???

I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It's pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.

I tried some of the snore remedies, nothing seems to work very well in my case.
