My wife wants Play Station....so that we can play guitar hero. Im luke warm to the idea. I haven't felt the urge to purchase a gaming system because quite frankly I feel that they are evil. Don't get me wrong, I have my vices like going to the casinos and I do have a few games on my computer that I use, but the fact is, I can put them down.

I had an old sega system back in the day and we had Madden and Hockey and it nearly failed us out of school. We had a ball playing it, but sometimes, we played instead of doing other things that needed doing. Some of you will say self control is key, and I agree, but the current systems get you so addicted to it that you can't stop. I see it in kids all over the place and Im a firm believer that the introduction of these fancy gaming systems such as Xbox, Wii, and Playstations have contributed to the growing obesity epidemic amongst our youth.

Instead of outside playing and being active, they sit and stare at a TV which is clinically proven to lower your overall metabolism and thereby you burn fewer calories.

So for those reasons Im not big on it. That and its another thing to spend money on. In a few years there will be a playstation 4 and 5 and 6 and sooner or later we'll have kids who will want the new $500 dollar system with all the $40 and up games. I think its time and money better spent doing other things than playing video games. I suggested actually taking real guitar lessons, that got shot down.

So, Im going to get it because I love my wife, but I swear, Im not going to play it for one minute, because I know that as soon as I do, Ill be addicted, and I don't want to monopolize my time with mind wasting video games.
