Goose Gossage was the only player voted in for the Baseball Hall of Fame, the results are above. I have several questions and the first one I have is who the hell were the two writers that voted for Todd Stottlemyre and Chuck Knoblauch? They should have their voting rights removed immediately and replaced with someone with a half a brain.
My next questions is why didn't Don Mattingly get in? I thought he would be a shoe in, yes his career was significantly shortened from back problems but still, he dominated at the plate when he was healthy and had all those years with 200+ hits. It was him and Boggs as the two big hitters in the AL back then.
My next question is if Gossage gets in, doesn't Lee Smith, Jack Morris, Bert Blyleven, Andre Dawsom and Jim Rice all get in? The two names that stick out to me on that list is Jack Morris and Andre Dawson. Maybe they were both blacklisted for their days playing in Canada? What ever it is they deserve to be in.
Also, why isn't Tommy John in by now? Hes got a friggin surgery named after him I think that alone qualifies him for the hall. They could have a video of Tommy John surgery going next to his plaque.
