I was going to post on the Sabres but as I was looking at the standings and saw the west, what a difference. Detroit is a mile ahead of everyone in the NHL let alone the Western Conference. The second place team Dallas Stars in the West are 17 points behind the Red Wings who have 86 points.

Add to the fact that despite that huge margin if you put Dallas in the East they would lead the East by a point. Detroit is once again the team to beat in the NHL going into the playoff run and just to make a bold prediction, they will fall in the first round like everyother year they have been top dog in the West.

What amazes me most is how old they are as a team, led by Chris Chelios who is 60 or something like that and Dominik Hasek who is like also 60, they truly are amazing but in the playoffs the younger faster teams will prevail in a 7 game series.
