Frank Thomas proved valuable in the DH spot, did the Jays over pay for him? This year will tell all. When they signed him to the deal that would pay him $11 million a season I thought that it was outrageous, but considering that for most of last year he led the team in offense it was money well spent.
This year, has to be more of the same. Hopefully with a rejuvenated Wells and Rolen hitting on either side of Thomas it will help him see some better pitches as well. Teams were not pitching to him because they knew that Wells, Glaus and Overbay were all swinging hurt.
Look for another 25-30 home runs and be happy with 90-100 RBIs out of the big guy again with Matt Stairs also getting some at-bats in the DH spot as well.
