It Wasn't Just Cookies
It is basically anything Cookie can get his hands on including letters, napkins and salt and pepper shakers. Sesame Street always did a great job teaching kids how to sound out words, this is a great example. This is how kids should learn to sound out unfamilar words when reading, Cookie Monster makes it more memorable, as in this video:
