Rangers 4 Sabres 3
When I write about the Sabres for the rest of the season Im using the green logo. If you have been paying attention on their website and their broadcast, the team with the help of Paul Gaustad and other players on the Sabres and throughout the NHL are going green to help combat global warming and to help the environment.
I think its great for Buffalo that the initiative was started here and that a player as popular as Gaustad is in this community is the one promoting it. Its also huge that an organization as public and in the spot light as the Sabres are chose to take this on. Good for them. Its a huge need to have leadership on environmental issues and the Sabres definitely provide a lot of leadership and support in the community.
On last nights game, I was disappointed but not surprised that they fell to the Rangers. If any of you saw Sean Avery's goal you hated him even more. What a damn showboat. Pumping fist and pissing off the fans with each and every move he made while he celebrated that goal. After that I wanted Lindy to use Andrew Peters as the sacrificial lamb and go and ram Avery into the boards teeth first but that would be playing down to Avery's style.
The Sabres had played 6 games in 12 nights going into the game and the Rangers just 3 in 12, so the Rangers had more legs going into the third period. No worries here though because as tired as Buffalo looked, they still controled stretches of the game and had some piss and vinegar in their game last night.
So, this one, just a little stumbling block on our way to 5th place in the conference. Thats right, I am boldly predicting 5th place by regular seasons end.
