Second Base

Second base is a strong point again for the Jays. Aaron Hill proved that last year. The best thing to me is, I think we still have yet to see the best of him at the plate. He is such a good hitter, I think we are going to see a guy who can and will hit .300 + and challenge for batting titles.
Defensively he is good, not overly flashy but reliable especially with a good shortstop who can cover ground playing next to him. If there are injuries, Aaron can also play short or 3rd but he has solidified himself as the starting second baseman.
Last years numbers should only improve from the .291 avg, 17 HR, 78 RBI and 87 runs. The best thing though is that they don't have to improve for this team to do well. If he has that year again and the rest of the team has their years, Aaron has no pressure what so ever, which should lead to a very relaxed and dangerous number 7 or 8 hitter in the batting order.
I think we could easily see .300-.330 batting average and 15-20 HR, 80-100 RBI and 100 + runs with a 200 hit season. Last year he had 177 hits and had a slow month in August/September. This time around with not so much pressure and healthy lineup around him he should improve again.
Back up to Hill at second, the newly acquired Marcus Scutaro and Russ Adams. Second base is definitely a strong position for the Jays, possibly equal to the Roberto Alomar days at least offensively.
