Stop calling this economic "stimulus" package you and congress passed "Robust". Its not robust, its $600 that we are going to get taxed on next year. $300 if im a senior citizen.

For me, its $600 thats going to go into my checking account, pay the last of the expensive heat bills from the winter and if I have enough left over Ill get my car washed in addition to filling it up.

$600 is not going to jump start an economy that is foreclosing on homes, in credit card debt to our eyeballs, and has healthcare costs weighing the rest of us down. Add to that inflation, fuel costs and an uncertain job and stock market and $600 might as well be $60. Its gone before its in our pockets.

It will go to the grocery store with us and will pay the heat and electric bills, its nothing. A real economic stimulus package would invest in our roads, bridges and infrastructure, invest in our schools, ease student loan burdens on kids coming out of college, fix this mortgage crisis that is looming and fix our healthcare system. Any other president with those issues would be out there beating the issues to death. Bush hasn't made a wimper. So, Bush can keep on talking up this "robust" package, but don't buy it, its all smoke and mirrors in an election year where they are looking to buy votes for the Republicans.
