Last Friday night after my swim meet at ECC I met my cousin Dan and friend Rich at this new Irish Pub in the Cobblestone District of Buffalo. Its not far from HSBC Arena.

Its a great place and I could definitely see myself hanging out there more, only one problem, until something goes up around this place, it is in the middle of nothing. The block that it is on, is essentially empty.

Don't get me wrong if you are down there in the city for a Sabres game or Bisons game, its worth a stop but to just go on a given night, I can't see myself going unless I was already in the city attending an event.

The bar is nice and if it were closer to the populated areas of Buffalo in the north towns, I could see it taking the place of a bar Rich and I used to frequent back in college, Shannon's Pub. We stopped going there because they refused to honor our Alien Green Cards, thats a story in and of itself.

So, that said, if you are in the Cobblestone District of Buffalo check the place out, WJ Morrissey's. its got a great atmosphere and maybe when the casino is finished a block or two away from there, Morrissey's will become a regular stop for me.
