Giving You More Than Just My Two Cents
Last Night At The Rogers Centre
Ill focus on the baseball and the positives first before I get to the other stuff I saw last night. Overall, I was thrilled to be at my first Jays game in two years. I could not have asked for a better night to be there and for all intensive purposes I left with my hopes up and a very good feeling about this season.
Shaun Marcum was lights out for the first 6 2/3 innings and the Canadian Matt Stairs gave a little firework display with a home run to help the Jays beat Boston 6-3. The Jays came ready to play and they were as exciting as I can remember them looking in years.
Frank Thomas doubled and Aaron Hill celebrated his new contract with a good, two hit night as well. Nevermind the game, perhaps it was the news before the game that trumped all the positives of the night, Aaron Hill and Alex Rios signed long term extensions showing this teams committment to keeping its young stars here and building a winner.
It was great to be back and Im hoping to be up for a few more this season possibly a big bus trip we are organizing for Uncle "Daddy" Don who passed away on Christmas Eve. We are organizing a Daddy's Crew to go up for the Jays/Yankees game July 11th.
