Its only fitting Jimmy Griffin left us on Memorial Day Weekend. He did so much for this area and city of Buffalo that he is probably one of if not the best man to serve in public office in the Western New York community.

I was too young to truly appreciate him when he was Mayor of Buffalo but one thing I did know about him was that he as A) Honest and B) He loved the city and people he served. He also was real. People identified with him. He was from south Buffalo and represented the true spirit of this community for years.

Jimmy Griffin will be missed and it is a phrase used too often but in this case so appropriate, it is truly the end of an era with his passing. Rest in Peace Jimmy.
