It always pisses me off to hear about how our government or any government for that matter places a species on the endangered or threatened list. Today, the polar bear was placed on the threatened list and once again our politicians try to "play god".

Who are we as humans, politicians or otherwise to say what living things we are going to concentrate on protecting more?

We should be protecting all wildlife and doing what is right for all living things be it plants, animals or friggin insects and microscopic life. The polar bear is cute, its symbolic and its great that it gets people interested in the whole subject of protecting the environment, but that is what is wrong with it.

We can list the polar bear as what ever we want to list it as, but if we don't protect its environment and the overall rock on which we live, it won't matter what list its on, it will be extinct.
