Okay, he started, can we please stop calling it the Joba watch? Whats the big friggin deal? He got eaten alive by the Jays, he showed nothing special with a 2 1/3 inning whopping start and threw 62 pitches thats about 186 pitches over 7 innings, thats awful is what that is.

He has been treated like some god or something and he is just another pitcher. If I were the Yankee faithful, I'd be more interested in watching their freefall down the standings than watching mediocre pitchers and their god awful starts. They treat this guy with kid gloves and why? Hes a professional pitcher being treated like hes a little leaguer getting ready to throw his first curveball. Enough already. Jesse Litsch is 7-1 and the Jays 5th starter. Theres a guy to watch, Roy Halladay is leading the world in complete games, there is a guy to watch.

If I were the Yankees fans out there I would start asking why they signed A-Rod to a 27+ million a year deal that will see him turn 40 as a Yankee and probably under perform in relation to the size of the contract and instead didn't go out and fortify their awful picthing.

After Chamberlain, the bullpen was awful. If thats what the Yankees have before Mariano gets out there, its a wonder they ever get to Mariano in the 9th. They are a team that looks flat and overpaid.

Don't put this on Girardi's shoulders either, he is managing a collection of egos and a team that is aging and going to see more of the DL than they have in the past. Its amazing that Mike Mussina is 8-4. Im sitting here listening to the Yankee announcers say that they didn't think that Joba's start today wasn't that bad. What game were they watching? If that wasn't bad then its going to be a long rest of the year for the Yankees.
