I Asked For A Move And Got It
John Gibbons out, CITO is back! I just got home and went to Mike Boon's Site for the news of the day and there it was. I thought it was a joke at first and made up but then I went to the Jays homepage and there it was. Gene Tenace and Cito are back.JP must read this site, hes not so bad after all.
The only surprise was seeing that they let Ernie Whitt go in the process. I was surprised that Cito did not keep Ernie Whitt around as he was a long time Jays player and now coach.
Anyway, this was the move I wanted, now if this doesn't produce results, either the players are just plain bad or Riccardi needs to go. Finally, we have a quality manager with some quality name coaches back.
I remember 1989 when the Jays hired Cito to replace Jimy Williams around this time of the season. The Jays were around the .500 mark and falling, 13 games out. By the end of the season, though they didn't win the division, they finished just 2 back of Boston that year.
Maybe a repeat of '89?

Crap..now what I am too do?? Guess i'll watch and see.
Dude, we did win the pennant back in '89. Cito led us to the promised land... this time, we'll have to do it without Mookie.
Wow they lost to the Pirates!! I think the highest batting average on the pirates is waht .260. This team is done new management and all they are done.
I was thinking of 1990 that year they came up two games short......sorry for the error!
I think, if need be, they have a potential McGriff/Fernandez for Alomar/Carter type trade in this franchise,
Put Burnett and say Alex Rios together, That could pull in some offers.
How bout something like Burnett and Rios for Jason Bay and Zach Duke......might have to throw something else in there but I bet the Pirates would bite and the Jays would get another Canadian favorite.
