Stephanie Miller talked with Representative Jan Schakowsky yesterday and among other things they talked about oil and drilling. 68 million acres of land is currently leased by oil companies for drilling and they want ANWAR. How bout using the land ya got first.
Add to that the fact that the oil companies would drill more but they are currently at a loss for equipment to drill with!!!! Blah blah blah. The ice caps are MELTING...Help. There is acid in the rain HELP...The water is all poluted HELP. The trees are all dying...HELP. Its all doom and gloom on this station. There solution to everything is more and bigger govt. Higher taxes and higher expenses to us all. The govt should get out of the regulatory business and let the companies that know what they are doing run the markets.
Their is a moratorium on domestic drilling you dumb asses. It does not matter what land leases are held. They are paying a lease for land and they are told they can't drill on. They didn't mention that in thier little love fest on the radio. In doing so the gov is loosing millions in royalties, which they do not need anyway, but could put it to use looking for new energy options. Osama Bama promises that he'll uphold all drilling bans and thus make the government forgo $BILLIONS in lease royalty revenues that would otherwise be collected if the drilling bans are lifted. He would allow the money to continue to pour into the middle east. Which is who he supports. He did say something about 57 states remember (there are 57 islamic states not 57 states in the united states, 50 exist here for you libs with a small brain). I think someone quoted it somewhere on this blog. This guy is a scam and a peice of shit. Wait, shit is sometimes black, he sometimes black, oil unrefined is somtimes black...mabey there is a connection.
The government should regulate when needed, look at anti trust laws, thats regulatory, the government regulates all other utilities when it comes to energy including electric bills, natural gas and water yet when it comes to oil there is no regulation of the price nor of what they can do to search for it.
Barb, you don't get it. It shouldn't be all about oil. We need to be thinking forward here and investing more in alternatives to oil. They already have 68 million acres leases on which to drill and yet they want more. Did you not hear the part about how these companies don't even have the rigs to drill with? They don't even have the equipment ready to go do it. Even if they do drill, none of these is going to get us off foreign oil, not on our appetite for the stuff. We consume over 20 million MILLION!!! barrels A DAY! The big boy that they want ANWAR that they are cumming in their pants about is only expected to give 780,000 barrels a day, that is less than 1/20th of our nations use per day. Thats today, we will be consuming more by the time they got that online. So the point is, we need to focus on other fuels, other renewable fuels not oil. We need to reduce the need to drill for stuff that is simply not going to make a difference.
