Tim Russert

Tim Russert passed away today. He died of a heart attack. The entire news world and the Western New York area will be shocked to hear and see this news. I know I was. At only 58, he was one of the most intelligent and politically savy news media members and always presented himself with poise and had great knowledge of the topics he covered with all politicians and guests on his show Meet the Press.

I watched Meet the Press religiously and always enjoyed hearing him because like some members of the media, he never took sides, always was fair and he was just a nice guy to listen to.

Its a shock and it hits home as Russert was a Buffalo boy as well, growing up in south Buffalo. He will be missed for his on air presence. This will hit the news world hard because he was well respected and liked amongst all.

I, like you, was saddened to hear of the passing of Tim Russert. Mr.Russert possessed the genuine integrity born of the unpretentious and pragmatic Buffalo, New York. Mr. Russert was one of our best. I will certainly miss his insight and candor. Not so much the overrated,, crooked, ill- mannered, bullying Jimmy Griffin. We all look better in the light of death, but Russert deserves the accolades, Griffin was a bum. Just my opinion. We might not agree on all subjects but I continue to read your blog on a regular basis and respect your analysis as insightful and thoughtful.
Peace,
Tony
PS-e-mail me. I just went to the archives and listened to Time Stands Still attached to the post regarding my departure. I miss you guys! The cases at the VA are typically more complex but Elmwood was home.

Buffaloboy I share your fellings. It's a sad day for the Intelligent view. He never missed a beat, was balanced, never forgot his roots. I feel for his family and friends. May god be with all of them, peace be with you Tim and family.
