The Cone of Silence
John McCain during the Saddleback interviews with Pastor Rick Warren may have been tipped off or overheard the questions when he was supposed to have been in a "cone of silence".
This was brought up by NBC's Andrea Mitchell who by the way did a great job covering the swimming in Bejing. She commented that McCain may have been able to overhear the questions and it has even come out that McCain may have been in a limo with radio or even TV access and amongst those with Blackberrys where he could have easily accessed the line of questioning from Rick Warren.
McCain's campaign says the comments Mitchell made are "unsubstantiated". Yeah right, all that means is that Mitchell nor anyone else can prove it. Nice way to word your comeback there grampy!
If you watched the interview McCain was anticipating questions throughout the interview and the one question Warren asked that was not asked to Obama, McCain stumbled his way through it.
Of course, instead of taking responsibility, McCain's campaign is going after Mitchell and requesting that NBC take action against her. If NBC has any balls they will tell McCain and his staff to shut their traps, she works for NBC not them and they will determine whether or not she needs to be dealt with. As far as Im concerned, she deserves a pat on the back, great job Andrea!
That stunt may have worked for McCain in this instance but wait till McCain gets on stage with Obama during the one on one debates. Then we will see who looks better and gives the better answers. Obama will stand out when these two take the stage together.
Oh my god I thought the same thing. I think he had an inside track. they must have given him the questions before hand. i cant think any more. They fix oil prices, they make us think everything is because of global warming, we are all going to die! We need the republicans or better yet some true conservatives to take over congress. that will fix everything. they blame it on religion, they keep feeding us a line of crap. These liberals are ruining our country. Get them out of office. They even try to make us us think these athletes in the the olympics are poor suffering souls who are scraping the bottom. They make me want to puke.
