Okay this is getting serious. They went out, they played their best game in probably two weeks and still get shutout 3-0. They outshot the Flyers 40-25.

Its all about finish and right now, this team is having trouble finishing off plays. Mark Mancari was brought up so it was a game late but finally, Darcy followed up on my advice. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though because coming all the way from Portland, Maine now I think you have to take part of that journey by dog sled, so it may very well take an extra day or two to get a call up.

Mancari was playing with Vanek for a good chunk of the night and looked great, they hit about 5 or 6 posts and had at least 10 quality scoring chances between Vanek and Mancari. He obviously impressed because he was picked as the third star, pretty impressive when you are on the losing end of a 3-0 shutout.

So, they played better, tonight they need to put the whole package together and not just play better, the result needs to be better. Baby steps. We can do this boys. Baby steps. Tonight should provide that too, its the lowly NY Islanders.
