Giving You More Than Just My Two Cents
Ahhh, Baseball in December......
Smells like spring! Okay not quite. It hasn't exactly been a banner offseason thus far for the Toronto Blue Jays. They can essentially say that they lost their number two pitcher in AJ Burnett and other than that they signed Matt Clement to a minor league deal. He has been out of baseball the last two years with injuries.
So, this recent article addresses something I have been thinking about since he got released. Daniel Cabrera, a towering 6'9" right hander that the Baltimore Orioles decided to part ways with, not for injuries but because Cabrera can't seem to throw strikes. He would definitely be a reclaimation project and most importantly...Affordable.
Cabrera has ace type stuff if he could only locate his pitches. He would be a great project for Jays pitching coach Brad Arnsberg who seemed to be able to reinvent AJ Burnett only to see Burnett walk.
If you can get him relatively cheap with an incentive laden contract, go for it. There are a few other potential suiters like Carl Pavano out there as well. Low risk, high reward. Thats what this offseason has to be about. Cabrera would be a nice addition assuming they get the high reward.

Obama gains. The states loses.
No way can this jerk get elected for yet another 4 quite some time.
