Today we look at a bit of early 90's British retro. The group Candy Flip back in 1990 did a cover of Strawberry Fields and you couldn't get away from the song it was every where. It was on alternative radio, top 40, rock radio.
Last night on Radio Nigel, I heard the tail end and went about looking for the video and never realized how incredibly lame the video is. Nevermind the fact that the video at various points looks very similar to the Police's Wrapped Around Your Finger. You'll see both videos have candles placed in strategic patterns and feature knocking down those candles.
Some songs could go without the video and honestly, sometimes I could go without seeing the artist behind the music. It keeps the music relevant. After watching this video you will see why, I still like the song, but the video takes a little of that away:
