Ed Schultz Our voice for Healthcare Reform

| | Comments (3)

If you have been reading this blog for the last 3-4 months I have been posting a lot of Ed Schultz clips and for good reason. This guy is the voice for the majority of Americans and especially on healthcare.

Its getting to the point where its time for Barack Obama and the democrats to say to hell with the republicans and get this healthcare reform done their way.

Americans want everyone covered, no pre-existing conditions and affordable. Conservatives think our system is perfect, its not, if it was perfect it would cover EVERYONE. It currently leaves out 50 million people. That is not perfect by any means. We are 50th in infant mortality and we pay twice as much per capita than any other country. We need reform and reform at the very least has to come with the public option.

Who cares if the private insurance companies can't compete, who cares if Independent Health, Community Blue and Univera go out of business, the fact is they rip people off and screw them on their healthcare and have been doing so for years.

Heres big Eddie on tonights Ed Show and MSNBC, the difference between him and the repuke talk show hosts is that Ed Schultz fights for average Americans.

Mike, this piece was ridiculous. Ed Schultz doesn't speak for the majority of Americans just because you agree with him. We can't allow the health insurance companies to go out of business it would just be more people unemployed paying nothing into a system from which they would be taking. Also, there's a lot of concern on the other side about the quality of healthcare we'll receive down the road when the government is allowed to tell the medical professionals what they can charge for services. It doesn't add up. We'll get worse care, slower care, and less care. Just another tax to support a wasteful, beaurocratic, red-tape-filled agency controlled by our government that specializes in creating overhead where it's not needed. Absolutely not.

Rob, he does speak for the majority of us. The majority of Americans voted Barack Obama into office because he promised healthcare reform.
Now you can't argue that healthcare reform is desparately needed. The fact that I am sitting here uninsured as a healthcare provider myself is an example of how it needs to be changed.
I Couldnt afford to insureboth myself and my wife. I had to make a choice. 50 million others in the country make that same choice. Its too expensive.
Now, the democrats are the only ones coming out with ideas, the republicans haven;t come up with one solid thought yet other than to say how shitty a healhcare system that works is in Canada and Please some of my Canadian readers chime in on that....
And the republicans say how shitty the current plan on the table is.....Not once have I heard them offer one decent thought on a solution. Its all negative crap and false claims about what works in DOZENS of other countries.
When a republican steps up and tells us how they plan to:
-make it more affordable
-cover ALL AMERICANS
-eliminate preexisting conditions
-make insurance companies pay no matter how serious the disease
-make healthcare a right....its not a right...not unless you want to keep your house....those who are uninsured have to choose between the house or paying huge medical bills....

Our current system does all that republicans say a single payer system would do....our current system:
limits choice
is unaffordable and expensive
and try gettting healthinsurance if you already have cancer or switching health insurance companies if you have some prior illness.

Mike, Over 20% of the 47M uninsured are not US citizens. So now your number is down to 38M who might deserve health care on America's dime.

But that's the socialist democratic party for you... help everyone in America even if they don't deserve it, or -gasp- belong here.
