Running Scared: The Original Lethal Weapon
Running Scared featuring Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines was the original "Lethal Weapon". It was released in 1986, one year before Mel Gibson and Danny Glover teamed up.
If not for Gregory Hines passing there would have been a sequel to it as well. One of the most underrated movies of the 80's, quite possibly of all time:
Running Scared came out in 1986. Gregory Hines past away in 2003. He did lots of stuff in between. I'm sure it wasn't because of his death that their wasn't a sequel. It was probably because of Billy Crystal's City Slickers movies.
I agree, I loved this movie, especially Jimmy Smits brick Cell phone.
Rumor had it they were looking at doing the sequel shortly before Gregory Hines passed, it was in the works and both had agreed to do it.
