To Act or Not To Act

This guy puts forward a very logical argument for skeptics and supporters of action to fight climate change. He steps through it logically and is able to reach a logical conclusion as to what we should do, take 10 minutes out of your day and take a look, hear him out:

I wish a lot more of our elected officials thought like this. The all talk about the cost...well one aspect he didn't mention was converting to a green economy, one that in the long run will decrease the threat of global warming does not have to be an economic train wreck.

Going "green" ultimately will decrease our dependence not just on foreign oil but on oil in general, lets face it, even the stuff we have here isn't enough to sustain our energy needs long term, we need wind, solar and nuclear as well as other energy ideas. We stop sending money overseas to buy oil and fuel from countries we don't like and who don't like us. If that money stays here, we benefit.

Also, anyone who thinks that we don't have an effect on our global environment is kidding themselves....Anyone hear of Love Canal? I lived there, its uninhabitable there. We can ruin this planet and that is a small example. Another is how we almost killed off the bald eagle from pollution from the pesticide DDT. Man made pollutants almost killed off the bird on our money and a symbol of our nation.

Bottom line is the economy is just a small, fixable part of a scenario that could go wrong in a lot more ways than just the financial sector. We can always fix the economy which actually is a pretty lame excuse.
