My wife went up to the attic this morning and apparently there is some sort of rodent poop up there. Here is my question, my dog and cat both have their rabies shots do I sent them up there to flush them out and kill?

Or do we set some traps?

Or do we call a pro incase there is a need for extermination?

It could be a squirrel which we would have heard. I could be a mouse which apparently my wife thinks the poop is too big to be a mouse, which leaves us with rat? My thinking is, if its a rat, we need to call the pros, I don't do rats.
