Big Eddie- Let the Tax Cuts Expire
I love Ed Schultz, he tells it straight on his show and is all for the middle class and working poor of this country. He also talks about issues that no one else is touching namely the fact that not only do the Bush tax cuts need to expire on the wealthiest 2% of this country, we need new labor laws that will keep manufacturing jobs in this country.
Who else touches that topic. The free trade agreements this country has made are KILLING US. You want to know why there are no jobs you can go back to Reagan, Bush senior, Clinton and Bush Jr. for continuing free trade. We need to start taxing goods from other countries and provide benefits to good made here.
Manufacturing jobs have bled from this country because of free trade because labor overseas is so dirt cheap and they can ship those goods here with no tariffs or taxes and we buy them cheaper, end result? Jobs outsourced.
Add to that, the fact that there is no transparency with how coorporations spend their money on our politicians which means the rich coorporations foreign or domestic will own our politicians, the middle class? Piss on us, what politician will listen to the middle class. Coorporations can outspend any labor union and not have to disclose what politician they bought off.
Nothing has been done about the supreme court ruling from this past winter and here we are inside 100 days before the mid terms. Its a scary thing. The top 2% own 83% of the stock in this country. 66% of the wealth belongs to the top 2%.
The most perplexing thing is talking to the repukes who will make you think that these are massive tax increases on everyone, the most massive tax increase ever...whoa scary stuff and gets most people to believe in that. Its not a huge tax increase on anyone other than the top 2% earners in this country, its massive because that is where all the wealth is. You want to create jobs? Get that money flowing through the public pipes. That keeps teachers employed, saves social security and medicare and helps with spending on much needed infrastructure repair that this country needs desparately.
The tax increase? From 36 to about 39%. Do the repukes seriously want us to think that the wealthy paying an extra 3% in taxes is going to kill anyone in this country? Prove that keeping it the way it is is going to create one job....so far it hasn't. And it didn't under Bush either.

How About a Tax Break For NY Residents?
I saw this article this morning and it really got me burning up inside about this friggin state. Apparently NY State thinks enough of OUT OF TOWN flim makers to give them up to 30% tax credits to make their movies throughout NY.
Most of the projects go to down state obviously but there are more and more projects finding their way up here towards Western New York.
Stars such as Keanu Reeves (if you choose to call him a star) in Buffalo, Denzel Washington in Olean, Matt Mesler in Buffalo for Nicholas of Myra: The Story of St. Nicholas (what Buffalo has to do with that I have no idea), Angelina Jolie in Albany, Will Ferrell also in Albany......the list goes on blah blah blah, we all get the point. Hollywood is coming to NY.
So fucking what! Its on the taxpayers backs. Out of town film crews/movie stars with bloated Hollywood budgets come here and get tax credits? How about us?
In the meantime the people who make the state run, the residents, get hit with hidden utility fees/taxes, $25 cash grab by the state for new license plates next year because we are broke, all sorts of other new DMV fees, taxes and other shit laid on the backs of residents of this state.
If the state is broke, why are we going out of our way to give 30% tax credits to rich Hollywood filmcrews and movie stars? Because it will help the states economy? Bull crap, how many of us are getting checks signed by Hollywood studios for any of these movies?
This state has it all screwed up which should come as no surprise, its consistent with how its been and where its been going. This state could give a crap about middle class citizens in this state and these tax credits are just a small piece that they try to put a positive spin on it, yet its a big steamy pile of crap.
New York State Strikes Again

Just when you thought, okay, maybe the economy is turning around, things are looking slightly better, New York State gave us all a big swift kick in the ass.
Starting next year our DMV fees will be going up and the kicker was that all drivers in New York State will have to buy "new" license plates for $25. For most of us it will be double and triple that because most middle class households have two cars. New York State comes right out and says it too, they are doing it because of the fiscal crisis in the state.
I have an idea, how about our elected officials learn how to manage money. So, my idea is instead of us paying more for plates we don't need, we hold special elections and vote these money sucking retards out of office.
Registration fees are going up, license fees are going up, which are already the highest in the country. I would like one idiot in Albany whether its Governor Patterson himself or some supervisor in the DMV to stand up in front of a microphone and provide one good reason why we have to buy new license plates. Why do the residents of this state have to foot the bill?
First off plates are made in prisons for like 10 cents a piece so they are raping us to the tune of 250 times what they are worth to begin with.
Second, I never asked for new plates, were the drivers in this state yelling and screaming about new plates? I haven't heard that, im fine with the ones I have.
The fact is its a money grabbing scheme because this state is mismanaged more than any other state in this country besides maybe California. Its pathetic. They can grab a quick couple hundred million from the license plates and then the other fees will never go down so those represent a long term cash grab.
Well, I say the residents of this state call Albany on this move. When they send me my bill for the new plates Im not paying. What are they going to do pull every driver in New York State over? Take all our cars away? Don't pay it when you get it.
Seriously, at this point I think it would feel better if they sent someone to my house to kick the shit out of me and steal the $25 instead of telling us we for what ever reason need new plates. Give me a break, the voters of this state may not have much power, but we are not stupid.
When it comes time for new license plates next year...Dont pay it. What can they do if everyone refuses to pay for them?
BYE!!!!!
Apparently Rush Limbaugh doesn't want to do business or be a part of New York State anymore. GOOD BYE!
Apparently, Governor Patterson raising taxes on the rich is too much for Limbaugh so he is taking what ever assets he has out of New York. For the first time in a while I agree with Patteron. If this would have gotten Limbaugh out of New York sooner he should have raised taxes on the wealthy earlier.
Taxing My Mileage?
They can't be serious. The way our governments waste money and then the state of Oregon comes up with the biggest bone headed idea on the face of the planet. Taxing motorists based on miles driven.
Oregon lawmakers are worried that with less gasoline being purchased due to lower demand because of hybrid cars and increased fuel efficiency that they won't be able to raise enough money to pay for roads and infrastructure with the current gas tax system.
Tax American's based on how much we drive, based on mileage. I am as big of a green guy as they get. I get the idea. Taxing people on mileage would generate income, everyone drives. Installing GPS on vehicles to do it too.....I get it...But its the worst idea ever concieved. Thats fine though. Lets start the program with every single local, county, state and federal employee and politician first. For real. For the first five years of the program we will try it out on our politicians first and see how they like it.
Lets see how they like the American people seeing how much they drive, how much they waste and how much it would cost them first. We put the GPS on their private limos, their personal cars, their family members cars, anyone related to politicians or civil service workers on up the chain to the federal level.
After five years of them paying out of their pockets for this program, if they like it, then the rest of the country can adopt it. If they don't, we scrap the idea.
The talk is in Oregon that they could tax a premium rate for rush hour. Thats a great way to promote business and to stimulate the Oregon and for that matter the US economy. Tax us for driving to and from work everyday. What a dumb ass idea. You would get most workers waiting at work until the premium rate for the evening commute is up and probably showing up late or leaving extremely early to avoid the premium rate.
I do homecare, I travel all day long, That shoots me right in the foot. Why bother working. One proposal had a quarter cent per mile to make up for the gas tax. Bull shit. Right now I drive 50+ miles in a day. I have to. I have to or I can't do my work. Every day I would have to pay at least 12.5 cents. Thats 62.5 cents a week. Thats unecessary. That doesn't include weekend driving. In addition to that I pay a toll both ways going over Grand Island.
If they want to do that and New York follows suit, thats fine, then every single toll barrier in this state needs to be torn down. That includes Grand Island and the New York State Tolls and the Customs tolls. Tear down the tolls at the state and federal level on all major thruways in the country. Immediately repeal any federal, state and county gas tax as well.
In addition, if the states want to do this, they have to pay for the GPS that is going in my car. That is not going to be an out of pocket expenditure for any American.
A better idea than the GPS would be every year for inspection they record your mileage and tax you accordingly. And an even better idea than that, make the inspection itself free. If you're going to hit us with the mileage tax, do a little work as our political leaders and look for ways to save money on things that the gas tax goes to.
The best idea is to scrap it all together and leave things be. We can never catch a break in this country without some crappy tax. Enough. Figure out a way to live without the gas tax revenue. Let the American people enjoy better gas mileage in their cars and less cost of owning a car. Nothing can ever go without some bullshit tax in this country and if this takes effect we will have Oregon to thank for thinking it. Oregon. What the hell is there in Oregon anyway besides a shitty basketball team?
I may be an environmentalist at heart, but that doesn't mean that I don't believe in our right to drive our cars where we want to without being taxed for driving too many miles. Let us take advantage of new fuel economy standards and hybrid cars and let us have the freedom to drive them as we need to without having to worry about another tax.
